After nearly ten years of operation, SICCA will disband as of October 2023. I hope members would look back at the incredible time we shared through the years. SICCA was truly a grassroot effort that demonstrated the power of community and reciprocity. Together we participated in over 42 programs and expanded our knowledge to become better stewards of our collections. 

Our field has changed dramatically since COVID. Workers are wearing more hats than ever before and many of us are barely keeping our heads above water leading to the decline in participation and membership. Moreover, in contrast to when SICCA was founded, free learning opportunities are now more readily available and can be accessed with a click of a button.

As current board member of the Association of Indiana Museums and Association of Midwest Museums I will continue to advocate for small cultural institutions and promote accessible professional development opportunities. I encourage you and your institution to become a member and participate in events hosted by these two wonderful organizations.
