About SICCA

SICCA is founded in 2013 and held its first meeting in March 2014. The Mission of SICCA is to provide no-cost, collections care related professional development opportunities. SICCA also strives to promote networking and institution collaborations.

SICCA offers four core activities a year - annual meeting, workshop/lecture, lunch/dinner networking, and field trip to a non-member institution. SICCA continues to grow each year with additional activities often added to the roster.

Membership with SICCA is opened to anyone who desires to learn and upholds the best practices of collections care and commits to the preservation of cultural heritage and artifacts. Affiliation with an organization is not required. Students with strong interest in the museum and collections management field are encouraged to join.

As of October 2023 SICCA has disbanded.
