Frazier History Museum Field Trip

Location: Frazier History Museum, Louisville, KY

Kate Wanke, Registrar at the Frazier History Museum along with four additional Curatorial and Exhibit staff gave the group a behind-the-scene tour of their facility. They also discussed and answered questions regarding exhibit planning and fabrication while we walked through the temporary exhibition "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous: Art. Fashion, and Luxury in the Gilded Age". We concluded the field trip by watching a live-interpretive performance about the life and struggles of a fictional Irish immigrant seamstress based in Louisville.

Boxmaking & Artifact Labeling Workshop

A dual, hands-on workshop led by Evansville Museum Registrar, Liz Fuhrman Bragg and Staff Assistant, Kaman Hillenburg. Bragg demonstrated how to custom made a box to house artifact while Hillenburg discussed the various methods of artifact labeling and marking. Participants left with a hand-made box and sampling of label methods.
1st Annual Meeting

SICCA kicked off its first event with an annual meeting at the Evansville Museum of Arts, History & Science. Nearly 30 people from various collecting institutions convened to discuss their latest projects, some of the problems they were facing, and collaboration opportunities. A portion of the meeting included a behind-the-scene tour of the Museum led by Interim Director and Curator of Collections, Mary Bower, Curator of History, Tom Lonnberg, and Registrar, Liz Fuhrman Bragg. The highlight of the tour was the Museum's new collections storage and workshop area.
