4th Annual Field Trip - Speed Art Museum

13 members toured the exhibitions and storage of the newly renovated Speed Art Museum. Attendees were able to ask Registrar, Chuck Pittenger questions one-on-one. The tour was quite a treat!

Fun was had by all at the historic Greyhound Bus Station turned restaurant. Nine SICCA members attended this annual social gathering.

Protecting Collections: Creative Solutions on a Shoestring Budget Workshop

Location: Evansville Museum of Arts, History & Science

In partnership with the Indiana Historical Society - Local History Services, instructor Karen DePauw supplied the 17 participants
some tips and tricks on how to protect collection items on display and in storage on a budget. Through presentations and fun hands-on activities the group learned both long-term solutions as well as some mid-range ideas as to how to protect our collection.

4th Annual Meeting

Location: Warrick County Museum

Hosted by the Warrick County Museum, the 4th Annual Meeting was full of exciting new programs. Participants enjoyed some refreshments and participated in activities in the ConnectZone.
​
Attendees received a special tour of the facility from Colleen Tally, Gretchen Powers, and Diane Nicolson. Following lunch at nearby restaurants, the participants regrouped for presentations from three speakers.
​
Hilary Fleck presented Grant Opportunities for Collections Shelving. Karen Malone introduced Museum Education 101: What a Non-Educator Should Know about Learning in a Museum. Susan Colaricci Sauls spoke about Storage Assessment, Planning and Implementation: Discovering the RE-ORG Methodology.
