8th Annual Meeting

Location: Wabash County Museum, Mt. Carmel, IL

Attendees headed over to a hidden gem, the Wabash County Museum for a behind-the-scene tour with Claudia Dant and Mary Summers. This two floors facility highlighted the local history and currently displayed an impressive collections of the famous television show, The Lone Ranger. The group also learned about Wabash County Museum's effort in promoting access through the use of STQRY (formerly OnCell). The attendees also had a  large group discussion and smaller group discussions regarding topics that are of mutual concerns.

Wonderful World of Digitization Workshop

Location: David L. Rice Library, University of Southern Indiana, Evansville, IN

This workshop focused on digitization and discussed its many components through five sessions from six speakers. Topics included how to make digital collections more accessible through metadata and promotion, digital and new technologies for patron services, planning large digital projects, and tour of digital repositories across the state. The workshop concluded with a behind-the-scene tour of the University Archives & Special Collection.

Filson Historical Society Field Trip

Location: Filson Historical Society, Louisville, KY

Field trip attendees received an in-depth behind-the-scenes tour of research library, collections storages, and exhibitions with three curatorial/collections staff - Maureen Lane, Curator of Museum Collections and Exhibits Coordinator; Brooks Vessels, Assistant Curator & Exhibit Designer; and Kelly Hyberger, Native American Collections Specialist.
